I recently finished this piece of my favorite character from Warcraft lore – Broxigar. He has an amazing backstory, mostly told in a book trilogy called The War of the Ancients. (Its an awesome read if you ever want to check it out :D)
In 2015, I did a ton of research and took hundreds of notes to prepare for a portfolio project on this guy but wasn’t able to begin any further. Now, I have more time and incentive to chisel away at the ideas I want to explore – revisiting the character with more insight.
I’ll be working on some Heroes of the Storm skins for him next, so stay tuned!
It’s strange to think that it’s almost been a year and half since my first concept of Brox. It makes me appreciate process and growth even more. I always get euphoric when reflecting on the progression and improvement of things – whether it be mine or anyone else’s creations. I see it as a unique voice of… hope.
A quote by Bob Ross frequently fills my thoughts: “Talent is a pursued interest. Anything that you’re willing to practice, you can do.”
Such a simple concept, but truthful. An epiphany moment type of statement.
So if you’re someone who is wanting to try a new avenue or an artisan looking to improve, just remember that you do have talent! It’s to work passionately and to work smart. The practice will return the favor.
Keep on rock’n and roll’n!
